Fighting skill


Parry allows you avoid some damages during a fight. Each time
you are hit, a skill check is made and if it's successful some of
the damages will be absorbed by your shield.

To parry, you need to be wielding a shield.

This skill apply only to physical attack.

Fighting skill


Each time someone try to hit you, a dodge skill check is made and if
it's successful, it will lower your armor class, making you harder to
hit.

Open locked door


Doorbashing is a skill that allows one to open locked doors. One must refer
to the door by name (not the direction of travel).

example: > doorbash gate

or > doorbash door north

Success means that the door is unlocked and opened and the attempter is placed
in the room on the other side of the door, while failure causes the attempter
to be stunned for a short time, and take a fair amount of damage in the process.

Note: Not all the doors can be bashed.

Fighting skill


This skill let you retreat from a fight. It's automaticaly used when you
try to flee and it increase the chance of success, leting you leave the
room without panicing.

This skill let you attack another foe while already fighting.
To use it, type : hit <victim>

Information skill


This skill let you know some informations about an items like the damage
of a weapon, who can use it...
It's not as good as the identify spell but it's useful all the same.

If you miss your skill check, you may got funny informations so if you
want to be sure, use the skill several times on the same item.

Use : value <item>

Thief skill


This skill let you leave and enter a room without other people noticing
you. This is very useful when planning some mischief.

Use : sneak

Thief skill


This skill let you hide, making you totaly invisible for other people
until you type a command.

Some mobs or people using the sense life spell may still be able to detect
that there is someone in the room but they won't know who it is.

a drawback of this skill is that you are never sure if you succeeded in
hiding or not.

Use : hide

Thief skill


This skill let you steal items or coins from someone. You can't steal
equiped items.

Use : steal <item> <person>
steal coins <person>

Thief skill


This skill is used to pick a locked door. Not all doors can be opened
in this way.

Use : pick <door name>

Fighting skill


This skill let you kick your opponent and do extra damage.
This is a very powerful skill when used by a monk.
There is a small drawback to this skill : When you try to kick someone,
you won't be able to do anything else during three fighting rounds so,
be sure that you won't need to flee !

Use : kick <victim> or just : kick

Fighting skill


when you use this skill, you try to knock over that person. If you are
successful, you will do some small damage to your victim and you will
cause him to fall on its rear.
The victim will be unable to do anything for several fighting rounds and
is helpless during this time as any attack on a sitting person will do
extra damage.

Note : Some monster are just to huge to be based.

Use : bash <victim> or just : bash

Fighting skill


A rescue is an attempt to make a monster hit you instead of the
person being rescued. You can only 'turn' one monster for each
attempt. This is highly useful when playing in groups.

Use : rescue <person>

Riding mobs


This skill let you ride a horse or any other "rideable" mobs.
It is even possible to ride a dragon but they don't like it much and
they will attack you if you fail.
When trying to ride a dragon, the level of the dragon and your level
will be taken into account.
It's easier to ride a dragon of the same alignement.
The spell dragon ride will also help you.

You can either found a mob to ride, buy one or create one with the
spell mount.

Use : mount <victim>

Remove trap


This skill let you try to disarm a trap.
If you fail to disarm a trap there is a high probability that the trap
will be sprung on you.

Use : disarm <trap>

Quivering palm (Monk skill)


Quivering palm is a fabled monk attack.. It can only be done 1 time per
week, and only on an opponent of the same level or lower, with less than
2*the monks max hit points. If the roll is successful, the target dies
instantly

Use : quivering <victim>

Safe fall (Monk skill)


Safe fall is a monk skill that allows them to fall from any height, and
fail to die. They will be stunned, and badly wounded, but they will not
die (if they make the roll)

Feign death (Monk skill)


allows a monk to pretend that they are dead. The people/things
that are attacking you will stop fighting you, and may leave you
alone completely, although it is best to leave the room as soon
as possible.

Tracking mobs


This skill let you know who traveled in a room, where they came from
and in which direction they left.
This skill is very useful to backtrack your step in a maze or to
know if lot of mobs are moving around.

To track a mobile, you need to be on is trail. You can't track a specific
mob but only a mob of the same race.
Track will be erased with time depending on the weather.
The trail you left depend on your weight and what you are carrying.
WARNING : some mob may hunt you if they find your trail...
To get the tracks in a room just type track.
You can put yourself in track mode by typing : track <race>
If you are in track mode, each time you enter a new room, the most recent
track of the race your are hunting will be displayed.

If you miss your skill ckeck, you may got some strange result.

Find trap


This skill is used to find if there is a trap in a room or on an item.
Each time you enter a room, a skill check is automaticaly done and if
there is a trap, you will see it.

Spring leap (Monk skill)


Allows you to attack from a sitting position, i.e. after you have been
bashed. You attack, and stand up, all in the same motion.

Fighting skill


This skill let you disarm your oponent and send flying his weapon.

Use : disarm <victim>

Read magic


This skill let you read magical scrolls. Magic-user always know this
skill.

Information skill


Spying helps a thief character gain information about the world around
him/her. After one has typed 'spy', one can look in various directions,
and given that there is an exit in that direction, and nothing blocking
the way (like a closed door), then the contents of the other room will
be displayed.

It also helps when attempting to value an item carried by another
person. Usually, it will tell that person that you are looking at a particular
item.. however, if you successfully spy, they won't notice.

Use : spy <diraction>

Swim


This skill let you swim so you don't need a boat.

Use : swim

Information skill


This skill gives you the vital statistics of a mob, compared to yours.
but only if you have the appropriate lore skill.

To use it, type 'consider X', if X is a race that you know lore
about, you can get some info on the race. As your ability with the
skill improves, your estimates will improve.

Lore will also increase the damage you do when backstabing someone.

Use : consider <victim>

Disguise


Disguise is a skill that allows thieves to disguise themselves. What
does this mean, I hear you cry. WEll. This won't do squat against pcs.
BUT, those pesky mobs that hate you and fear you will forget who you are
if you disguise yourself well. This is a learnable skill.

Use : disguise

Climb


This skill let you climb normaly non-reachable area. So if you fall
in a pit trap and you cannot fly, you may climb back of it.

fighting skill


Protect is a warrior skills that can be turned on or off by typing : protect.
When activated, you will try to take all the attacker on you and play the
buffer so protecting the poor little mages in your group....

Use : protect

Concentrat


This skill help you keep your concentration when fighting. If you miss
your check when you are hit, your spell will be disturbed and you won't
be able to cast it.

The concentrate skill will let Monks regain move and hit point faster.
If there are resting, they will regain as if sleeping and if they are
standing, as if resting...

Weapons skills


If you don't know how to use a weapon, you will get an heavy malus.
You should at least know how to use one kind of weapon.

List of weapon types :

Stab : dagger,small sword... (C,D)
Smash : club, staff...
Slash : short sword, long sword... (C,D,M)
Pierce : knife, spear, javelin... (C,D,M)
Cleave : Axe... (C,D,M)
Bludgeon : Mace... (M)
Crush : flail, morningstar, warhammer (M)
Whip : whips (M)
Smith : Big two-handed words (M,C,D,T)

M : not usable by mage
C,D : not usable by druid or cleric
T : not usable by thief

Note : Cleric and druid can't use non-blunt weapons even if their primary
class is warrior.

You can also specialize in a weapon style if your primary class is warrior
and it will increase the damage you do with this kind of weapon.

Fighting styles


Sp. weapons :
Will increase the damage you do with a weapon.

Single weapon :
Will increase your hit roll. You must be wielding no shield.

Shield and weapon :
Will increase the amount of damage that are absorbed
by the parry skills.
You need to be wielding a weapon and a shield.

Two-handed weapon :
Will increase the damage you do with a two-handed sword ( smite )

Two-weapons :
Lower your armor class and give you a second attack.
Uou must be wearing a "main gauche" and
another weapon.

First aid


This skill can only be used once each game day. ( 24 ticks ).
It's used only on the caster.

If the user is monk, he will regain 1d8+level hit point, else he will
regain only 1d8.

Sign language


This skill let you speak with someone using the sign language. The
other person must also know this skill to understand you.

It's very useful under-water when you can't speak.
